The programming environments" for children" allow not only for children to learn programming, but also for teachers to develop teaching materials of various subjects. For example, Squeak is one of them. The developed teaching materials can purvey the simulation environments in the classroom. It will be necessary to study the effective use of the materials on each teaching content. Here, we concentrate on function and its graph that should be learned from arithmetic in primary school to mathematics in high school. We develop the prototype of the material for drawing graphs of functions and translating graphs by Squeak, and discuss the way to use it. As a result, we found it would make children understanding concrete by using it after drawing graphs by their hands, and deep when it is used repeatedly at many school terms. It, furthermore, would be modified and/or extended to adjust other contents that should be presented by graph. We also found that the basic scripts in the material can be constructed simply enough that children be able to read and extend those by themselves. This fact will possibly lead to the consequence of the growth of their interest in arithmetic, mathematics, and/or other subjects.
